Emomali Rahmon said that there is no coronavirus in Tajikistan.

President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon announced the absence of coronavirus infection in the country, but called on fellow citizens to observe the rules of personal hygiene.

“Today Tajikistan is free of COVID-19,” Rahmon said on Tuesday in his address to the country’s parliament. He explained that since the beginning of January, no cases of coronavirus infection have been recorded in the country.

At the same time, the head of state stressed that it is necessary to continue to observe the rules of personal and public hygiene and take care of one's health.

The first 15 people infected with coronavirus were identified in Tajikistan on April 30, 2020. According to the latest data from the Ministry of Health, the total number of infected people in the republic is 13,308 people (0.1% of the population), recovered - 13,215. 90 people have died from complications caused by the infection since the beginning of the pandemic. Since 31 December 2020, the daily increase in the number of people infected with coronavirus in Tajikistan is zero, with except for three days - 2, 5 and 10 January.

Since 15 June, non-food markets, shopping malls, hotels, points catering and & nbsp; beauty salons. At the same time, it is mandatory to wear medical masks in public places, passenger terminals, transport, shops and medical institutions. From 1 February the country will be allowed to hold collective services in mosques with observance of the rules of personal and public hygiene.
