The capital of the UAE will host such an event for the first time. It was initiated by the head of the government, Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum.

Last week, the Dubai-based International Institute for Tolerance revealed plans for the first World Conference on Tolerance on November 15-16. According to the organizers, the event will be held with the aim of "joining forces to fight extremism and factionalism." As the authors of the initiative note, this issue is particularly acute for many Arab countries at present.
The time for the international forum was not chosen by chance, since November 16 is the International Day for Tolerance - a memorable date for the UN.

"Advantages of pluralism: diversity through innovation and cooperation" - this is the slogan of the meeting, which the organizers have already told about. According to them, over a thousand participants will come to Dubai to discuss the announced topic, among which there will be statesmen and public figures, diplomatic staff, secular and religious leaders. One of the sessions of the meeting will be devoted to discussing the humanistic heritage of Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, the first President of the UAE.

“Tolerance is when you feel safe within your own culture and beliefs, when your reaction to unusual phenomena is surprise and interest and not fear and intolerance,” Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, head of the UAE Ministry of Tolerance, said ahead of the forum.
According to local media, the Global Tolerance Conference will be held under the patronage of the Emir of Dubai Minister of State Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum.
