Paul Griffiths, CEO of Dubai Airports, the operator of Dubai Airports, sees no alternative to so-called vaccination passports for traveling the world. The National newspaper quoted his statement on Sunday.

"I don't think there is an alternative [to vaccination passports]," he stressed, adding that "the introduction of such a document is inevitable."

Earlier, the International Air Transport Association (IATA) said it is developing a digital IATA Travel Pass that will take into account passenger health information. As expected, the IATA Travel Pass will be a mobile application that contains information about the health of the passenger (whether he has already been ill with coronavirus, recent test results, vaccination information) and allows him to know exactly the requirements of the host country (whether it is necessary to quarantine, where to get vaccinated

Aeroflot CEO Mikhail Poluboyarinov expressed the opinion that the launch of a digital travel card could help restore the air travel market. In April, Emirates Airlines announced the use of the IATA Travel Pass in test mode.

In addition, a number of countries announced the introduction of their own vaccination passports. The introduction of certificates is being discussed, for example, by the countries of the European Union (EU). The European Commission proposed to call the document "green digital pass". It will be recognized in all 27 EU countries and will include three categories of data: the vaccination itself, the dates of the COVID-19 illness, and the dates and results of PCR tests.
