Demand for Russian vaccine grows in Thailand

She explained that the majority of foreign citizens who submitted applications are family members of Russian compatriots living in the kingdom.


“On Thursday we plan to transfer the processed lists to the Russian embassy for further ordering the required number of doses of Sputnik V,” she said. “ Vaccination of foreigners is not a priority for Thai authorities, so compatriots really hope for help from Russia.” it was decided to apply to the & nbsp; investments for provision and delivery of the Sputnik V vaccinefor further use in the territory of the kingdom. Meanwhile, compatriots will be vaccinated only after the official registration of the drug by the local regulator. The Thai authorities have announced plans to start using Sputnik V as early as August, but the vaccine has not yet been approved for emergency use. On May 5, the Union of Russian Compatriots in Thailand began to form primary lists for vaccination.
