China's internet regulator has issued yet another notice aimed at restricting celebrity information online in the latest step in its crackdown on show business, according to Japanese media outlet NHK.

On Tuesday, the Cyberspace Administration of China said that in recent years, the Internet has become more entertainment-oriented and hosted content has become vulgar. Officials believe a chaotic fan culture is detrimental to core values.

The administration stressed the need for a healthy internet environment.

The regulator announced that it would ban what it called anomalous aesthetics and distorted values , in particular, flaunting wealth and worshiping money, as well as spreading scandalous information about celebrities.
