Chinese authorities donate vaccines to 69 countries and sell them to 43 other countries. This was announced on Sunday at the annual press conference on the sidelines of the session of the National People's Congress (the highest legislative body) of the State Council member, Minister of Foreign Affairs Wang Yi.

“Within the framework of the COVAX [ Kovax] we promised to provide 10 million doses of vaccines to meet the needs of developing countries in the first place. China provides free vaccines to 69 developing countries and exports vaccines to 43 countries,” he said. He also noted that the PRC "unwaveringly advocates the availability of vaccines as a global public good."

"China is confidently leading the way in international vaccine cooperation. We cooperate on the joint development and production of a vaccine with more than 10 countries, involving more than 100,000 volunteers,” Wang Yi continued. “We are ready, together with foreign partners, to consider the issue of mutual recognition of vaccination and jointly develop a specific plan for this work,” he concluded.
