China has already introduced 324.3 million doses of COVID-19 vaccines

As of May 9, over 324.3 million doses of COVID-19 vaccines have been administered in China. This was reported in the State Committee for Health Affairs of the People's Republic of China today, May 10th.

Compared to the 317.58 million doses reported on May 8th, the figure has risen by more than 6 million. China is actively promoting mass vaccination of the population to develop an immune barrier.

In Zhuhai City (South China's Guangdong Province) the city health department is working with Chinese mobile operator China Unicom to use 5G technology to ensure uninterrupted and stable internet connectivity at temporary vaccination sites.

At the same time, in Shanghai, As of May 8th, more than 18 million people have been vaccinated against the coronavirus, and almost 6 million people have already received both doses of the vaccine.

Currently China has approved four vaccines for COVID-19, and one more has been approved for emergency use. On December 30, 2020, a vaccine developed by Chinese pharmaceutical company Sinopharm became the first drug to receive conditional approval in the country.

According to the PRC Center for Disease Control and Prevention, the country aims to vaccinate 70-80% of its population by the end of this year or by the middle of 2022.
