Aeroflot's Moscow-Shanghai flight will be suspended for a week due to passengers with coronavirus.

The General Directorate of Civil Aviation of the People's Republic of China has suspended Aeroflot flight SU-208 Moscow-Shanghai for a week due to the detection of cases of infection with a new type of coronavirus on board. This was stated in a statement released by the Shanghai government on Friday.

The air regulator made this decision after on October 2, eight passengers of the corresponding flight tested positive for coronavirus. Flights on this route for Aeroflot, according to the statement, will be suspended for a week from 19 October.

According to the regulation of the General Administration of Civil Aviation of the People's Republic of China regulating international air traffic, if the number of passengers who test positive for nucleic acid upon entry reaches five, then the authority restricts air traffic on the route for one week. If the presence of the coronavirus is confirmed in 10 passengers, then the message is suspended for four weeks.
