Chechnya will develop relations with Turkey

Ramzan Kadyrov said that Chechnya and Turkey need to establish close cooperation.


The Chechen Republic should establish close cooperation with Turkey, the head of Chechnya said in his Telegram channelRamzan Kadyrov.

"Friends, during the face-to-face negotiations [of the President of the Russian Federation]Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin and [the President of Turkey] Recep Tayyip Erdogan I met personally with Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu and the head of Turkey's national intelligence organizationHakan Fidan. We had an informal rich and productive conversation, during which we came to a consensus on the need to establish close cooperation between Turkey and the Chechen Republic in various issues," the message reads.

Kadyrov noted that a fairly large number of ethnic Chechens currently live in Turkey. "Mevlut Cavusoglu expressed hope that this informal meeting will be the beginning of further development of relations and establishment of contacts. I agreed with the Turkish Foreign Minister and also noted that both sides will only benefit from joint initiatives," the head of the republic explained.

He also added that he had received an invitation to visit Turkey and accepted it.
