Iran plans to vaccinate 70% of the population by the end of summer.


Iranian authorities plan to vaccinate 70 percent of the country's population by the end of summer. This was announced on Monday by the Minister of Health of the Republic Said Namaki.

“We promise people that by the [beginning] of the month of Shahrivar next year TASS) 70 percent of the population will be vaccinated. In this case, the spread of the coronavirus will be stopped, and the epidemic will stop, ”the Club of Young Journalists quotes him as saying. The minister added that “the Iranian vaccine will enter the market in April-May 2021.”

On February 9, Iran began free voluntary vaccination of the population against coronavirus using the Russian drug Sputnik V. At the first stage, it is planned to vaccinate resuscitation and intensive care workers. The next step will be to vaccinate the rest of the healthcare workers and people over 65.
