Ayatollah of Iran receives third dose of COVID-19 vaccine

Iran's spiritual leader was revaccinated against covid with an Iranian drug.

The spiritual leader and leader of Iran, Ali Khamenei, was revaccinated against the coronavirus infection with the Iranian drug COV Iran Barakat (“Kov Iran Barakat”). This was announced on Sunday by the President of the Academy of Medical Sciences, Seyed Alireza Marandi.

“Just as the spiritual leader received three doses of the vaccine, it was the Iranian vaccine ‘[Kov Iran] barakyat’, we should all do the same . Those who have not yet been vaccinated should hurry,” he said.

In recent days, there has been an increase in the number of people infected with coronavirus in Iran. So, over the past day, COVID-19 was detected in 35,429 people. The anti-record for the daily increase in cases was recorded on August 17, 2021 - 50,228 people.

Iranian scientists have developed three vaccines to fight the coronavirus. "Kov Iran barakyat" is currently one of the main drugs for vaccinating the population of the Islamic Republic. In addition, domestic vaccines Fakhra (Fakhra) and Razi Cov Pars (Razikov Pars) received permission for use in Iran. Also, foreign drugs are used in the Islamic Republic, in particular the Russian Sputnik V and the vaccines of the Chinese company Sinopharm (Sinopharm), Indian Bharat Biotech (Bharat Biotek), British-Swedish AstraZeneca (AstraZeneca). At the moment, about 54.5 million people are fully vaccinated in Iran, which is 64% of the country's population.
