Thailand plans to import RF   COVID-19 vaccine for animals.

Thailand plans to import the Russian vaccine against COVID-19 for animals. Julia Melano, adviser to the head of Rosselkhoznadzor, told reporters about this.

“Rosselkhoznadzor, with the participation of the subordinate service of the Federal Center for Animal Health, held talks with representatives of one of the largest pharmaceutical manufacturers in Thailand. The negotiation process was initiated by the Thai side. During the video conference, the Thai side expressed interest in importing the drug, which is aimed at prevention and reducing the risks of a pandemic both among domestic and among wild animals, she said.

According to Melano, we are talking about the largest manufacturer of nanonutraceutical drugs for humans and animals in the Kingdom of Thailand - Supreme Pharmatech Co., Ltd. Melano noted that, according to the representative of the Thai side, these risks are much higher for the Asian region due to the specifics of the life of the population, the large tourist flow and the climate. In addition, the availability and use of a vaccine will reduce the likelihood of the new coronavirus infection, which is known to occur through cross-species transmission, to mutate. Such prevention in Thailand will be a serious positive argument for tourists who plan their holidays in the country, Melano added.

She added that during the negotiations, representatives of the Federal Center for Animal Health reported that they were ready to provide a trial batch of 10,000 doses. “For its part, the Thai pharmaceutical manufacturer promised to make every effort to negotiate with the state competent authorities of the kingdom about the possibility of prompt registration of the drug and permission to deliver it to Thailand for commercial purposes, said the adviser to the head of the department.

In the near future, specialists from the FGBI ARRIAH, which is the developer of the vaccine, will send an export package of documents to the Thai colleagues. In addition, technical consultations will be held regarding the delivery of the drug to the territory of a foreign state. Following the negotiations, the Federal Center for Animal Health (FGBI "ARRIAH") subordinate to Rosselkhoznadzor and the largest manufacturer of nanonutraceutical drugs for humans and animals in Thailand signed a memorandum of understanding . The document provides for the assistance of the pharmaceutical company in matters of state registration and supply of a vaccine for the prevention of a new coronavirus infection in animals.

“During the talks, it was also noted that the world's first registered vaccine against COVID-19 for animals has already shown interest in Argentina, South Korea , Japan, EU, etc. In total, FGBI ARRIAH currently supplies a wide variety of animal vaccines to 21 countries of the world,” Melano concluded.
