April 2018 2009, a ban was introduced in Armenia on the import of foreign cars with a right-hand drive. This caused protests in society and in September the Cabinet of Ministers began to consider options for a compromise solution. Initially, it was proposed to ban the import of right-hand drive foreign cars after March 1 of this year.

At the same time, several hundred cars already purchased but not yet entered the country have accumulated on the border of the republic. Then it was decided to extend the import permit until May 1, 2019. The decision of the Armenian parliament approved this term as final.
