Georgia and Armenia are restoring rail links interrupted due to the coronavirus pandemic. The first train will leave on June 15 from Yerevan to Batumi, Georgian Minister of Economy and Sustainable DevelopmentNatia Turnava said at a briefing after a government meeting on Monday.

Passenger trains honey from Armenia and Georgia has not been visited since March 2020. As explained by the corr. TASS in the Georgian Railway, the launch date of the Yerevan-Tbilisi-Yerevan train, which was also interrupted due to the coronavirus pandemic, is not yet known.

Georgia opened land borders with its closest neighbors on June 1, which had been closed since March last year. From Armenia, Azerbaijan, Russia and Turkey, those foreigners who have completed a full course of vaccination can enter the republic, also presenting a certificate of a negative PCR test result at the border. If a person fails to present a vaccination document when entering Georgia, at the border he will be able to show a certificate of a negative PCR test done within 72 hours, and also accept an obligation to retake the test within three days. Since February 1, the ban on regular flights has also been lifted in Georgia.
