A manned launch of a Russian spacecraft will take place from Baikonur in March

First manned launch in 2022  scheduled for 18 March.


The launch of the Soyuz MS-21 manned spacecraft is scheduled for the evening of March 18. This is stated in the message of Roskosmos, distributed on Sunday.

It is expected that Roscosmos cosmonauts Oleg Artemiev, Denis Matveev and Sergey Korsakov will go to the ISS. The backup crew includes Sergey Prokopiev, Anna Kikina and Dmitry Petelin. The flight to station will follow a two-turn pattern (about three hours).


“The next manned launch from Baikonur Cosmodrome is scheduled for September 21 at 16:54 Moscow time,  added the state corporation.


In September-October, Anna Kikina, the only woman in the Russian cosmonaut corps, is to go to the ISS as part of cross-flights with the United States.
