For two weeks now, the Akmola Regional Museum of Local Lore in the city of Kokshetau has been visited by an endless stream of visitors: teachers and schoolchildren, students and employees, veterans and youth.

The subject of their interest is two unique exhibitions launched by the Russian House in Nur-Sultan with the support of the Russian community of the Akmola region.

One of the exhibitions - "Lessons of Nuremberg: to remember" - was prepared by the Russian Historical Society and timed to coincide with the 75th anniversary the end of the Nuremberg Trials, which ended World War II.

The second exposition is called “Moscow. Memory of Time” and is dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the historical Battle for Moscow. It presents the author's works of the famous St. Petersburg photo artist Sergey Larenkov.

Head of the Russian community of Akmola region Alexander Artyomenko stated: “These exhibitions are important because they reflect the key events of our common history, which we have no right to forget. We must always remember the feat of the Kazakh soldiers of the legendary Panfilov division, which defeated the Germans near Moscow and dispelled the myth of the invincibility of the Wehrmacht. Equally important for us are the results of the Nuremberg Military Tribunal, which gave a harsh lesson to the authors and executors of cannibalistic plans for world domination, genocide and sinister ideas of racial superiority.

“I am glad that our very young compatriot Veronika Antipova initiated this large-scale exhibition and educational project in the main museum of the region. Recently, this talented activist took part in the New Generation program of Rossotrudnichestvo. The exhibitions currently taking place in Kokshetau testify that the trip to Russia, communication with her peers from different countries has benefited her,” emphasized Alexander Artemenko.
