< b>Beijing hosted a forum dedicated to the application of innovative media technologies at the Olympic Games

Beijing hosted the Global Forum on Media Innovation. The organizer was the China Media Corporation. The event was dedicated to high technologies in the work of the media at the upcoming Winter Olympics. 145 international organizations and leading mass media from 78 countries of the world became participants. Chinese President Xi Jinping addressed the guests of the forum with a congratulatory letter. 



China President Xi Jinping:

"I hope that the participants of the forum will unite and exchange ideas on how to attract an audience to winter sports, show their unique charm so that everyone can feel the triumph of the Olympic spirit."
China Media Corporation CEO Shen Haixiong expressed his hope that the forum will contribute to the success of the upcoming Winter Olympic Games and talked about the cutting-edge technologies that his organization will use to cover the grand sporting event.

“We will broadcast the opening of the Beijing Winter Olympics and competitions in various sports, including short track and figure skating, using technology 8K, cover all Olympic events in 4K. 30 years together! China and the countries of Central Asia have entered a new era of relations 



Beijing hosted an online summit dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and the five countries of Central Asia - Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan. The parties agreed to expand practical cooperation in various fields, including trade, security, and cultural and humanitarian exchanges. 

Zhao Lijian, Chinese Foreign Ministry Spokesperson:

“This summit was this year's first major multilateral diplomatic event and the first collective meeting between the leaders of China and the five Central Asian countries in over 30 years. For us, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan are good neighbors, close friends, partners and brothers. The heads of state of the five Central Asian countries have repeatedly expressed their support for China in hosting the Winter Olympics in Beijing and opposed the politicization of sports.”



In the 30 years since the establishment of diplomatic relations, China's foreign trade volume with by the five countries of Central Asia has increased by more than 100 times, 58 pairs of sister cities have been established. All these are vivid examples of the successful implementation of the One Belt, One Road initiative in Central Asia.

An unforgettable performance awaits the audience before the opening of the 2022 Winter Olympics



Guests and residents of Beijing before the opening of the Olympics - 2022 is waiting for an unforgettable concert. It will be held on February 4 at the National Stadium "Bird's Nest", it will be attended by more than a thousand people aged 5 to 70 years. They are not professional performers, but ordinary citizens of China, most of them came from Beijing and the nearby province of Hebei. 

Meng Yang, director of the show:

“From the very beginning, we thought that ordinary Chinese people would take part in the concert. They are characterized by positivity, self-confidence and good physical shape, and amateur teams will show this on stage. Our performance is divided into 6 parts, which cover six themes: "the world of ice and snow", "anticipation and the moment of reunion", "blessing for the winter Olympics", "dream arena" and "wonderful bloom".


The performance combines all types of dances: folk, modern, ballroom and others.  The musical accompaniment was also carefully selected. Out of 200 songs, 24 were selected. They are not only popular with the general public, but also resonate with Olympic compositions. Through songs and dances, the participants will be able to interest an audience of at least 300 million people in winter sports.

After the performance, the opening ceremony of the Winter Olympics will begin, it is scheduled for February 4 and coincides with the beginning of spring. On this day, the performers will not only give people around the world a colorful visual feast, but will also celebrate the Chinese New Year together. -ro-ro



Ro-ro - a Chinese-made cargo-passenger ferry - was handed over to a customer in the city of Guangzhou. The vessel is the fastest in the country and is capable of a speed of 23 knots. With a length of 208 meters and a width of almost 29, it can carry more than 1,300 passengers and 500 vehicles.  It is the most technologically advanced and environmentally friendly ro-ro ferry in China.

“The ferry has excellent steering characteristics, it can turn freely in a space only 550 meters wide. The vessel is one of the quietest in the world, which ensures a comfortable stay on board. It is also equipped with a specially designed "smart" system that allows you to provide passengers with hotel-level service."



Ro-ro ferries are designed primarily for transporting goods on wheels – it can be various vehicles, including trucks carrying goods, or even railway cars - then rails are laid on the ferry itself, onto which the train enters directly from the shore.


The Ministry of Ecology and Environment of China announced the improvement of the environment in the country



There are more days a year with good air quality in China. The statistics for 2021 were published by the Ministry of Ecology and Environment of the PRC. It was easy to breathe in the cities for a total of 319 days. The concentration of PM2.5 pollutant - fine suspended particles - was 30 micrograms per cubic meter, which is 9.1 percent less than in 2020.



The state of the country's water resources has also improved: today, almost 85% of them have good characteristics. In addition, China's environmental authority said that over the past year, targets have been achieved to reduce the total emissions of four major pollutants, including nitrogen oxides, volatile organic compounds, chemical oxygen demand and ammoniacal nitrogen.

Giant panda released into the wild caught on camera for the first time



Xiaohetao's giant panda was released into the wild three years ago. And just now, for the first time, she got into the lens of an infrared camera in a nature reserve in Sichuan province. The researchers note: the bamboo bear is in excellent shape and has fully adapted to the new habitat! Scientists made such conclusions by studying data from the panda's GPS collar and analyzing video footage from the reserve.

“Before she was a year old, Xiaohetao spent most of her time with her mother. It was a critical period for her behavioral development and growth, so we taught her some basic survival skills.”

From a small teenager, Xiaohetao grew into a strong panda and was able to settle into the wild. All thanks to a special training program and placement in the natural habitat of pandas bred in captivity. Territories where bamboo bears can be released into a new life are selected according to strict criteria.

“In order for a panda to give birth to healthy offspring, it is necessary to avoid places where its blood relatives live or will live. But it is also important to choose territories where there are no animals with genes that are too far apart - sometimes this also leads to the birth of weak offspring.

The program has been operating since 2003, during which time the China Research Center for the Protection and Study of Giant Pandas has released into the wild nature of nine giant pandas, all of them have successfully adapted to the new environment.
