About 12 new laser-optical systems for monitoring outer space will be deployed in Russia until 2025. This was told to journalists at the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation on the Day of the Russian Space Forces.

“As part of the program to improve and develop the Russian space control system, the space forces continue to work on the creation of specialized ground-based means of controlling outer space of a new generation. Until 2025, it is planned to deploy more than 12 new laser-optical and radio-technical systems on the territory of Russia that implement various principles for detecting and recognizing space objects, ”the military department said.

The Ministry of Defense clarified that the first laser-optical complex a new generation has already been successfully put on combat duty in the Altai Territory and solves the problem of controlling outer space.
