1.5 million Russian tourists rested in Turkey

Since June 22, 1.5 million tourists from Russia have visited Turkey.


One and a half million tourists from Russia have spent holidays in Turkey since the opening of air traffic between the two countries. This was announced on Monday by the vice-president of the Association of Tour Operators (ATOR) Dmitry Gorin on the air of the Moscow-24 TV channel.

“If we talk about foreign destinations, then after the opening of Turkey on June 22 Turkey is the obvious leader: already one and a half million tourists from Russia have rested in Turkey,” he said.

Speaking about the tourist destinations in Russia, which remain the most popular, Dmitry Gorin named Crimea and Krasnodar region. “For the second year in a row, the leaders of the Kaliningrad region, the Russian Baltic route,” added ATOR vice-president.

Air traffic with Turkey has been restored since June 22. Since April 15, Russia, due to the increase in the number of people infected with coronavirus in Turkey, has limited flights to this country: the number of flights has been reduced to two per week on a reciprocal basis.
