The Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation plans to create about 200 new scientific laboratories in the regions of the Russian Federation.

The Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation intends to create about 200 new laboratories at universities and scientific organizations of the Russian Federation in five areas, including "New Medicine", "Microelectronics", "Green Energy", "Agriculture" and "Climate". This was reported to journalists on Thursday at the Openbio forum by Anna Tevyashova, Deputy Director of the Department for Coordinating the Activities of Scientific Organizations of the Ministry.

"This year it is planned to create 200 laboratories in scientific organizations and, accordingly, in universities, but these 200 laboratories in five areas such as "New Medicine", "Microelectronics", "Green Energy", "Agriculture" and "Climate"," she said.

The amount of funding for the work of the laboratory is about 16-17 million rubles per year for three years.

Anna Tevyashova clarified that the final number of laboratories in each direction has not yet been determined. Thus, within the framework of the "New Medicine" direction, involving interdisciplinary research in the field of biotechnology, it is planned to open 55 laboratories. Among the cities in which they will be created are Moscow, Novosibirsk, Tomsk, the regions of the Far East and others. "We have tried to select teams with the appropriate competencies," concluded Anna Tevyashova.
