Tyumen doctors are ready to introduce VR technologies into the healthcare system of the region

Tyumen Medical University has proposed the use of virtual reality technologies for the rehabilitation of patients.


Tyumen State Medical University has introduced virtual reality technologies (VR technologies) into the regional healthcare system, which has become one of the key results of the Priority 2030 program. This was reported to TASS in the press center of the university.

"Rector Ivan Petrov highlighted the following key results of the university's work: the introduction of VR technologies into regional healthcare in the rehabilitation of patients with acute cerebral circulatory disorders and injuries," the report says.

The press center clarified that among other results - the emergence of the possibility of managing antibiotic resistance (resistance of bacteria to antibiotics) through microbiome research and the creation of probiotics, as well as health management technology through research in the field of chronobiology - for example, the project of anthropocentric lighting in the Arctic.

According to the Rector of Tyumen State Medical University Ivan Petrov, during the year of work under the Priority 2030 program, the university has made serious progress in terms of restarting the management system, introducing new educational formats and launching unique educational programs, including for foreign students, the number of which the university has increased by 30%. "We pay great attention to attracting young scientists, planning research and development. Research in the field of personalized medicine, chronobiology and microbiome is at the forefront," he said.

The Ministry of Education and Science of Russia announced the launch of the Priority 2030 program on June 24, 2021, it is aimed at improving Russia's competitiveness in the field of education, science and technology. The estimated duration of the program is 10 years, it will take place in two stages: 2021-2025 and 2025-2030.
