Shanghai elementary and secondary schools will open on September 1 after several months of lockdown.

Students of junior and middle grades of Shanghai schools will be able to resume full-time classes in their educational institutions on September 1 after several months of lockdown due to covid. This was reported on Sunday by the local information resource "Penpai".

According to the rules established by the city education committee, students will have to take a PCR test every day to attend classes. Only children with a negative covid test result made no later than 24 hours before the start of classes will be admitted to educational institutions. The same rules are established for visiting kindergartens.

The Shanghai authorities transferred city schools to an online learning format in early March due to the increase in the number of people infected with covid in the metropolis. In June, secondary school students of the second and third years of study, as well as students of the third year of elementary school, were allowed to return to classes.
