Russia and China will discuss joint plans for the lunar program

Dmitry Rogozin plans to discuss cooperation on the moon with the end of May.


Director General of Roscosmos Dmitry Rogozin said in an interview with TASS about plans to discuss cooperation on the Moon with Chinese partners by the end of May.


"I plan to before the end of May to have a detailed dialogue with our Chinese colleagues about our cooperation in this [lunar] direction,   said Dmitry Rogozin.


In November 2017, Roscosmos and China National Space Administration (CNSA) signed a cooperation program for 2018–2022 years. It includes six sections devoted to the study of the Moon and deep space, space science and related technologies, satellites and their applications,elements materials, interaction in the field of Earth remote sensing data. To implement this program, working subgroups were formed.


In March last year, Rogozin and the head of CNSA Zhang Kejian signed a memorandum of understanding to promote cooperation and implement a joint project on  ;creation of the International Scientific Lunar Station.
