At Sechenov University, with the support of the Strategic Academic Leadership Program "Priority 2030", a Scientific school has been established that develops remote monitoring of patients with chronic heart failure, which affects at least 60 million people worldwide.

In Russia, heart failure is detected in 7% of the population.

Heart failure is a complication of various heart diseases and leads to a significant decrease in the quality of life of patients, as it requires limited physical activity and frequent hospitalizations. In order to prevent decompensation of heart failure and, consequently, to help the patient avoid another hospitalization, constant careful monitoring of its numerous symptoms is required. The number of patients in need of such supervision is huge and no healthcare system in the world can cope with such a burden. To solve this problem, scientists at Sechenov University, in collaboration with IT specialists, have developed a unique telegram bot, which, with the help of a regular targeted survey of patients with heart failure, allows you to assess the likelihood of decompensation and identify high-risk patients who need to see a doctor for timely correction of treatment.

The Telegram personal messenger is one of the optimal interfaces for telemedicine home surveillance in terms of ease of use and accessibility. Unlike telephone monitoring, the bot created at Sechenov University does not require the involvement of additional human resources, its questions are clearly structured and have given answers. The patient can take a daily survey at a convenient time for him.
The developed algorithm is suitable for all patients with heart failure, regardless of what kind of heart disease it was caused by.

Within the framework of the Scientific School developing under the leadership of Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences Yuri Nikitich Belenkov and Corresponding member of the Russian Academy of Sciences Viktor Viktorovich Fomin, a pilot study on the use of bot in real clinical practice was launched at the Departments of Hospital Therapy No. 1 and Faculty Therapy No. 1 of the I.M. Sechenov First Moscow State Medical University. Preliminary results show a high commitment of patients to monitoring and, accordingly, an improvement in their quality of life.

Their foreign colleagues, including from Asian countries, have already become interested in the research of Russian scientists, with whom Sechenov University is developing cooperation within the framework of the policy of the Russian Federation aimed at forming a Large Eurasian Partnership.
