Kazakh satellite to establish communication in neighboring countries

Astana plans to replace the KazSat-2 spacecraft, which has been in orbit since 2011.


Now Kazakhstan is just getting ready to create KazSat-2R.  Expiration in orbit of an active satellite will expire in November 2023.

The Republic plans to provide telecommunications services to consumers in neighboring Uzbekistan, Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Defense and Aerospace Industry of Kazakhstan.

It is noted that KazSat-2R will help provide ubiquitous broadband Internet access, including in hard-to-reach rural areas.

Communications and broadcasting satellite KazSat-2 was created by employees of the Russian State Space Research and Production Center named after M.V. Khrunichev" commissioned by the Kazakh JSC "Republican Center for Space Communications".

 The device was launched into orbit in July 2011 using the Proton launch vehicle. The KazSat-2R service area includes Kazakhstan, the countries of Central Asia, the northwest of China, Mongolia, the central part of Russia and the Transcaucasus.

Let's add that the National spacecraft "KazSat-2" and "KazSat-3" are successfully functioning. Their resources are used by 15 satellite operators, more than 10 thousand earth stations in Kazakhstan are functioning.
