The landing module of the Indian lunar station "Chandrayan-3" has been successfully tested.

The landing module of the automatic Indian lunar station "Chandrayan-3" has successfully passed electromagnetic compatibility tests and the station is now generally ready. This was reported on Sunday by the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) on its website.

"The Chandrayan-3 lander successfully passed electromagnetic compatibility tests in the period from January 31, 2023 to February 2, 2023 at the satellite center in Bangalore," the message reads.

The Indian Space Agency indicates that the interplanetary mission consists of three main modules: a module with a propulsion system, a lander and a lunar rover. During the tests, electromagnetic compatibility of the systems was ensured at different stages of the mission. The operation of the systems was found satisfactory.

As the head of ISRO, Sridhara Panicker Somanath, said in January this year, ISRO is waiting for the right time to launch the mission, which is expected this year. The first Indian lunar automatic station "Chandrayan-1" was launched into Earth satellite orbit in November 2008. The device worked until August 2009. The second Indian lunar mission "Chandrayan-2" was sent to the Moon on July 22, 2019 — it provided not only for the launch of the spacecraft into orbit, but also for the soft landing of the Vikram descent module, which was supposed to deliver a small lunar rover "Pragyan" to the surface of the Earth's satellite.

However, on September 7 of the same year, when Vikram was at an altitude of 2.1 km above the lunar surface, communication with it was lost, and the lander crashed upon impact on the lunar surface. At the same time, the Chandrayan-2 orbital station continues to work in the orbit of the Moon. Now India wants to deliver a new lunar rover to the surface of the Earth's satellite and has prepared a new lander for this.
