Thus, the People's Republic of China became the first country to successfully carry out a biological experiment on the Earth's satellite. In total, on board the Chang'e-4 probe, which successful landing on the moon on the third of January, there are seeds of six biological species. These are potatoes, cotton, rape, rucifera (a plant of the cabbage family), yeast and fruit flies.

Experts note that the growth of cotton seeds indicates that they have endured space travel well and the aggressive effects of factors such as strong background radiation, gravity, and temperature fluctuations.

< br> According to Academician of the Russian Academy of Cosmonautics. K.S. Tsiolkovsky, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor of the Department of Rocket and Space Composite Structures, Moscow State Technical University. Bauman Valery Timoshenko, it is very important that the development of cultures continue. On the air of Sputnik radio, the expert noted that similar experiments had previously been carried out at orbital stations. It happened that after rapid growth the plant froze.

Timoshenko draws attention to the fact that the main difference from previous experiments is that there is weightlessness on the space station, and gravity is present on the Moon, albeit to a few times less than on Earth. The academician noted that if the experiment continues to develop successfully, it will be possible to set up a whole garden on the planet.
