China's Chang'e-5 probe collected and packaged lunar soil samples

China's Chang'e-5 lunar probe has begun collecting soil samples on the moon, according to the China National Space Administration (CNSA).

CNSA previously announced that Chang'e-5 has successfully landed on the Moon and has already sent the first video data back to Earth.

"The landing process went very smoothly, laying a solid foundation for subsequent drilling and sample collection," said Zhang Hongtai , head of the 5th Research Institute under China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation (CASC).
