Russian President Vladimir Putin has sent a congratulatory telegram to Xi Jinping on his re-election as President of the People's Republic of China.
"The decision of the National People's Congress is evidence of recognition of your merits as head of state, as well as broad support for the course you are pursuing for the further socio-economic development of China and the protection of national interests on the world stage. Russia highly appreciates your personal contribution to strengthening the relations of comprehensive partnership and strategic cooperation between our states. I am confident that, working together, we will ensure the expansion of fruitful Russian-Chinese cooperation in various fields. We will continue to coordinate joint work on the most important issues of the regional and international agenda," the President's telegram reads, in particular.
