Russian President Vladimir Putin congratulated Turkish leader Recep Tayyip Erdogan on his birthday and noted that his best qualities as a statesman and a person are manifested in difficult times. The telegram was published on Sunday on the Kremlin's website.
"Dear Mr. President, dear friend, I cordially congratulate you on your birthday," Vladimir Putin addressed his colleague. Tayyip Erdogan turned 69 on February 26.

Putin stressed that Russia appreciates Tayyip Erdogan's personal contribution to strengthening friendly relations and constructive cooperation between the countries. "I am confident that we will continue to systematically implement mutually beneficial joint projects, continue to coordinate efforts in addressing important issues on the regional and global agenda," the Russian leader added.
