Vladimir Putin awarded Emomali Rahmon with the Order of Merit for the Fatherland, III degree.


Russian President Vladimir Putin awarded a colleague from Tajikistan's Emomali Rahmon received the Russian Order of Merit for the Fatherland, III degree. The corresponding decree of the head of state was published on Tuesday on the official portal of legal information.


"For a great personal contribution to strengthening the relations of strategic partnership and alliance between the Russian Federation and The Republic of Tajikistan, as well as to ensure regional stability and security, to award the Order of Merit for the Fatherland of the III degree to Rahmon Emomali, the President of the Republic of Tajikistan," the text of the decree says.


Rahmon turns 70 on October 5. In 2017, he was also awarded the Order of Alexander Nevsky for his great personal contribution to strengthening bilateral relations and cooperation between Russia and Tajikistan.
