Valentina Matvienko noted the exceptional role of the ex-president in the history of Turkmenistan

Chairman of the Federation Council Valentina Matvienko noted the exceptional role of the leader of the Turkmen people Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov in the history of this country. She wrote about this in a letter congratulating Berdimuhamedov on his appointment to the post of chairman of the Halk Maslahaty (People's Council) of Turkmenistan, as well as on recognition at the legislative level as a national leader.

"You have a special, exceptional role in the history of modern Turkmenistan, its transformation into an independent and successful state. Being a wise politician and a visionary statesman with invaluable experience, you have deservedly earned the true love and recognition of your people. You continue to implement the policy "The state is for man!"You work tirelessly in the name of progress, preservation of stability, strengthening of democratic values and unity of society," Matvienko's letter says, the text of which is quoted by the Neutral Turkmenistan newspaper on Tuesday.

Matvienko expressed confidence that Berdymukhamedov's activity at the head of the supreme representative body of people's power (Halk Maslahaty) will open up new prospects for the participation of broad segments of the population in making the most important socio-political decisions for the country. She also wished him good health, inexhaustible energy and success in responsible activities for the benefit of the people of Turkmenistan.
