Also on the agenda are negotiations with the business community of the Sultanate. They will be attended by Minister of Finance and Economy Amin Lew Abdullah and Minister of Natural Resources and Tourism Ali Aponga.

The visit has been in preparation for more than a year, was originally designed for five days and was supposed to last until February 22, clarifies TASS. Valentina Matviyenko previously stated that she would not be able to attend the reading of the Address of the President to the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation, which is scheduled for February 20.

The press service of the Federation Council stressed that at the insistence of the Russian side, the program of stay in the sultanate was reduced for three days "without prejudice to the purpose of the trip". Thus, the head of the Federation Council will return to Moscow on February 19.
