The heads of Russia and Singapore exchanged wishes and proverbs

It is noted that the meeting was timed to coincide with the 50th anniversary of the establishment of relations between our countries. The Russian leader is in Singapore, where the summit of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations and the East Asia Summit are being held these days, on a working visit.

Vladimir Putin noted the importance of economic relations between our countries. After his speech, the head of the Russian state took a glass of champagne and approached his Singaporean counterpart, who was holding a glass of juice.

In turn, Halima Yakob also raised a glass to Vladimir Putin's health and friendship. According to the head of state, relations between the two countries are actively developing, despite the fact that Singapore and Russia are completely different. In addition, Yakob quoted a Russian proverb:  "For a dear friend, seven miles is not a suburb." 

"Greater Asia" previously cited a statement by the Singapore Ministry of Foreign Affairs that the upcoming state visit to the republic  Vladimir Putin is a confirmation of "long-standing and multilateral" friendly relations between the two countries. 

Let us add that Vladimir Putin's schedule for tomorrow includes a number of bilateral negotiations. Meetings "on the feet" are planned with the President of Korea, the prime ministers of Japan, China and Thailand.
