Vladimir Putin at the talks with Halima Yacob remembered the Singaporean proverb: “Among friends, even water is honey.”


It is noted that the meeting was timed to coincide with the 50th anniversary of the establishment of relations between our countries. The Russian leader is in Singapore, where the summit of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations and the East Asia Summit are being held these days, on a working visit.

At a reception at the head of the republic, Putin proposed a toast to prosperity Russia and Singapore, for friendship, & nbsp; for the health of Madam President. Vladimir Putin noted the importance of economic relations between our countries. After his speech, the head of the Russian state took a glass of champagne and approached his Singaporean counterpart, who was holding a glass of juice.

In turn, Halima Yakob also raised a glass to Vladimir Putin's health and friendship. According to the head of state, relations between the two countries are actively developing, despite the fact that Singapore and Russia are completely different. In addition, Yakob quoted a Russian proverb:  "For a dear friend, seven miles is not a suburb."

Let us add that Vladimir Putin's schedule for tomorrow includes a number of bilateral negotiations. Meetings "on the feet" are planned with the President of Korea, the prime ministers of Japan, China and Thailand.
