Narendra Modi meets with Indonesian President

The Prime Minister of India discussed with the President of Indonesia the development of business ties between the two countries.


Prime Minister of IndiaNarendra Modi held talks with the President of Indonesia on the sidelines of the Group of Seven summitJoko Widodo. They discussed the development of business ties between the two countries, the office of the head of the Indian government reported on Monday.


"Prime MinisterNarendra Modi and the PresidentJoko Widodo had a productive meeting. Their talks will strengthen the comprehensive strategic partnership between India and Indonesia," the Indian Prime Minister's office said on Twitter.


"The leaders discussed the possibilities of expanding business ties and contacts," the office added Narendra Modi.


The head of the Indian government is taking part in the G7 summit in Germany. On the sidelines of this event, he has scheduled bilateral meetings with the leaders of the "seven" and invited countries. Earlier, Modi had already met with the German ChancellorOlaf Scholz, President of South AfricaCyril Ramaposa, President of Argentina Alberto Fernandez.


The Group of Seven summit kicked off on Sunday at Elmau Castle near the town of Garmisch-Partenkirchen in southern Germany.
