Mikhail Mishustin called the cooperation of the EAEU countries in the digital sphere successful

The Prime Minister of Russia noted the efforts of the EAEU in the digital sphere, including the “Travel without COVID-19” project.

The Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Mikhail Mishustin at a meeting with the Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Askar Mamin noted the fruitful relations between the two countries, as well as cooperation within the framework of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU), including the development of digital projects.

“I would also like to thank you for the  fruitful cooperation both on a bilateral basis, which we and perform in a constant mode, and within  EurAsEC. We discuss with a lot of issues that including tomorrow we will discuss on the agenda of the EurAsEC, - said Mikhail Mishustin at a meeting with Askar Mamin in Alma-Ata.

The head of the Russian Cabinet of Ministers welcomed the initiative of Kazakhstan to hold a digital forum, noting that an interesting agenda awaits the participants. According to him, the members of the EAEU have made a lot of efforts to create the digital agenda of the union. “We and you will consider those developments, proposals that including I made, which relate to covid, travel without covid, - added the Russian prime minister.

The Prime Minister of the Russian Federation expressed his hope for fruitful work, and also asked his colleague to convey his warmest wishes to the President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev and the first President of the Republic Nursultan Nazarbayev. Mishustin also once again congratulated Mamin on his appointment to the post of prime minister.

In his turn, the Prime Minister of Kazakhstan stressed that the relations between the two countries are distinguished by a strategic nature. He noted that in the last year, despite the negative developments in the economy, the countries managed to maintain the volume of trade at the level of 2019. “Together with this, new areas of our cooperation have been developed, which we are very pleased about. I would like to especially note and thank you for cooperation in difficult times of the pandemic, added Mamin, expressing confidence that cooperation between Russia and Kazakhstan in in all areas will continue in   2021.

On Friday, February 5, in Alma-Ata, a meeting of the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council will be held, which will consider, in in particular, issues of integration and  functioning of the internal market of the EAEU.
