Kyrgyzstan celebrates 30th anniversary of independence

Kyrgyzstan celebrated the 30th anniversary of independence on Tuesday. The main solemn event with the participation of President Sadyr Japarov took place on the central Ala-Too square in Bishkek.

Speaking with a congratulatory speech, Sadyr Zhaparovsaid that the Kyrgyz people are celebrating a great historical date - the 30th anniversary of their country's independence.

As the President emphasized, since independence, the Kyrgyz Republic has become a full member of and subject of international law. The republic has chosen a democratic model and ideals of development.

The head of Kyrgyzstan also noted that in connection with the changing situation in the region, there is an urgent need to strengthen border areas and intensify control measures on the agenda. The President also stressed that now the main goal is to replenish the weapons and military equipment of the Kyrgyz army as soon as possible and increase the combat effectiveness of the armed forces.

"We respect good relations with our neighbors. We are interested in further development of cooperation with our strategic partners, allies and friendly countries," the president said.

After the president's speech, a military parade took place on the central square. It was opened by a parade march followed by military equipment.

Celebrations in honor of Independence Day are held in all corners of the country. Solemn events, festivities and parades were also held on the main squares of the cities of Kyrgyzstan.

The celebrations ended closer to midnight. In the evening, a concert of famous performers took place on the square, dance groups also performed. The celebrations ended with fireworks.
