Vladimir Putin will receive Tokayev in Moscow on his first official visit after his re-election.


Russian President Vladimir Putin on Monday, November 28, will hold talks with his Kazakh counterpart Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, who will pay his first foreign visit to Moscow after his re-election. This was announced to journalists on Friday by the press secretary of the head of the Russian state Dmitry Peskov, answering a question from TASS.

"On Monday with an official visit to The President of Kazakhstan Tokayev will be in the Russian Federation, this will be his first foreign visit after being re—elected head of state," the Kremlin representative said. He noted that "there will be communication between the two presidents, negotiations."

Peskov also said that "the two presidents will address the participants of the Forum of Interregional Cooperation between Russia and Kazakhstan, which will be held in Orenburg on this day." He clarified that Putin and Tokayev will make appeals via video link from Moscow.

Speaking about the negotiations of the leaders of the Russian Federation and Of Kazakhstan, the Kremlin representative said that after the protocol part they will continue in the format of a working breakfast. Following the negotiations, he announced the signing of documents. "This will be a full-scale, very, very important visit for us and for bilateral Russian-Kazakh relations," the press secretary of the Russian leader said.

The Kremlin's press service reported that during the talks "it is planned to discuss issues of further development of Russian-Kazakh relations of strategic partnership and alliance, as well as prospects for cooperation within the framework of integration associations in the Eurasian space." They also reported that "a number of bilateral documents are expected to be signed, including a Declaration between the Russian Federation and the Republic of Kazakhstan on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations."
