In Israel, the election campaign for the post of prime minister of the country is underway.

Two rounds of voting did not reveal a winning candidate, so the third round is scheduled for the near future.

The leader in the election race is the current Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, leader of the right-wing Likud party. His main rival is Benny Gantz, member of the 21st and 22nd Knessets, leader of the Blue and White party and former chief of the General Staff.

Gantz visited southern Israel, which is often under militant fire, and stated that if he is elected, he will put an end to endless homemade rocket attacks on civilian settlements.

"We don't care which faction launches these rockets, but it has to stop, and we will make it stop," says Benny Gantz , candidate for prime minister.

If Netanyahu wins, this will be his fifth mandate as head of the Israeli government. Political scientists believe that the chances of both candidates are approximately equal.
