The Japanese Prime Minister is planning a visit to Australia at the end of October.

Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida plans to pay a visit to Australia at the end of October and discuss with his colleague Anthony Albanese the strengthening of security cooperation. This was reported on Wednesday by the NBC TV channel, citing sources.

According to him, the heads of government of the two countries plan to exchange views on the security situation in the region, including in connection with the strengthening of China's positions. Other topics are expected to be the development of the DPRK's nuclear missile program in the light of the recent missile launch, the crisis in Ukraine and economic cooperation.

Prime Minister Fumio Kishida attaches great importance to strengthening cooperation with Canberra in the field of security, the channel notes. Japan and Australia, along with India and the United States, are participants in the Quadrilateral Security Dialogue (QUAD).
