Foreign Ministers of Turkmenistan, Azerbaijan and Turkey to meet in Ankara

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov will pay a visit to Ankara on February 22-24.

According to the Decree signed on February 21 by President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, the head of the Turkmen Foreign Ministry in the capital of Turkey will take part in the Turkmen-Turkish inter-MFA consultations, as well as in the trilateral meeting of Turkmenistan-Turkey-Azerbaijan at the level of foreign ministers.

It is expected that one of the topics of negotiations between the heads of the foreign ministries of the three countries will be the possibility of exporting Turkmen energy resources to Europe after the signing on January 21, 2021 in Ashgabat between Turkmenistan and Azerbaijan of the Memorandum of Understanding on joint exploration, development and development of the Dostluk hydrocarbon field

On this occasion, the Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a statement welcoming the agreement between Azerbaijan and Turkmenistan on joint exploration, and also wished that this agreement paved the way for projects to improve Turkey's energy security.
