Chinese President Xi Jinping today, November 4, once again reaffirmed China's commitment to common development and assistance to other developing countries.


The Chinese leader made this statement in a video address at the opening ceremony of the fourth China International Import Expo (CIIE).

Xi Jinping noted that China will continue to firmly defend the common interests of the international community. He said China is ready to continue to take an active part in cooperation within the framework of multilateral mechanisms such as the UN, the World Trade Organization (WTO), the G20, the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) and the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO). ), to promote an in-depth exchange of views on trade, investment, digital economy, and green and low-carbon development.

China will continue to advocate for the fair distribution of COVID-19 vaccines and other critical medical resources and their unimpeded trade on a global scale, the Chinese leader stressed.

Xi Jinping reaffirmed China's willingness to make new efforts to promote the high-quality joint construction of the "One Belt, One Road" so that even more countries and peoples have new development opportunities.

The Chinese leader added that China is ready to take an active part in the fight against climate change and work to ensure global food and energy security, and will continue to increase assistance to others developing countries through South-South cooperation.

CIIE is the world's first specialized exhibition dedicated to imports. Launched by the Chinese government in 2018, this venue continues to serve as an important platform for expanding the country's opening up and promoting international economic cooperation and free trade.

The fourth import EXPO, held in Shanghai from November 5 to 10, covers a wide range of industries, attracted about 3,000 enterprises from 127 countries and regions, which will take part in the business exhibition in full-time format. In addition, 3 international organizations and 58 countries from five continents will present national online expositions, especially those involved in the implementation of the Belt and Road Initiative.
