This was announced by the head of the Turkish Foreign Ministry Mevlut Cavusoglu.

This statement was made by the Minister of Foreign Affairs during his visit to Washington. According to the diplomat, "the deal on the S-400 is a completed issue." Cavusoglu clarified that the United States also made an offer to Turkey to acquire Patriot anti-aircraft missile systems, but “there is no guarantee that the deal will be completed,” according to TASS

According to the Turkish press, Ankara approached Washington with a proposal to form a joint working group, which should prove that the acquisition of S-400 air defense systems "does not pose a threat to anyone." In 2017, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan announced that the countries had signed an agreement on the acquisition of the Russian air defense complex and on the advance payment by Turkey.

According to Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian government Yuri Borisov, Moscow is not afraid that Turkey will withdraw from the agreement. “So far they are committed to the signed contractual obligations and clearly fulfill them. The rest is hearsay. We have no fears yet,” Borisov said.

Earlier it was reported that the Turkish military, in preparation for work with Russian S-400 air defense systems, will pass internship in Azerbaijan. There they will get acquainted with the S-300 systems in service with Azerbaijan.
