New Delhi launches India's first anti-smog tower

In the business center of New Delhi - Connaught Place - launched India's first anti-smog tower. 

The 25-meter-high structure consists of 40 giant fans and five thousand filters. In one second, the structure is able to purify one thousand cubic meters of air. It will become easier to breathe for a kilometer around: the tower can filter out up to 50% of the most dangerous particles with a diameter of 2.5 micrometers.

Experts say that in order for the air in one of the most polluted cities on the planet to become cleaner, more than two hundred such structures will be required. For the third year in a row, New Delhi has ranked first among capital cities in terms of concentration of harmful particles in the air, according to the Swiss group IQAir.
