Heat continues to rise across Japan



On Wednesday, extreme heat set in many parts of the country. In Yamanashi Prefecture, the temperature reached 39.7 degrees Celsius.
Residents are advised to be extremely wary of heatstroke and take appropriate precautions, such as taking frequent breaks from work and drinking water.
In the northern part of Japan, unstable atmospheric conditions lead to heavy local rainfall. Forecasters are urging people in these areas to be on the lookout for the threat of landslides and flooding in the lowlands.
