Visitors to the Tokyo National Museum can now view ultra-high-frequency images of the rarely shown national treasure from the Horyuji Temple in Nara.

The exhibition opens on Tuesday. The day before the official opening, it was visited by the organizers and guests.

The work entitled "An Illustrated Biography of Prince Setoku" was written almost a thousand years ago in the Heian period by a master named Hata no Titei based on the legend of Prince Setoku. In order to preserve this delicate work, it is usually not shown to the public.

The staff of the Tokyo National Museum filmed the ancient relic on an 8K camera to demonstrate all the details and touches to visitors on the monitor. Everyone will be able to enlarge the pictures to the desired size on the tablet and read the job description.

The national treasure is on display in the Horyuju Treasures Gallery of the Tokyo National Museum. The Horyuju Temple in the ancient Japanese capital of Nara in the west of the country is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
