The films "World Champion", "Palm Tree" and the cartoon "Chink: Tailed Detective" will be shown to Bangkok residents as part of the Russian Film Festival (RFF) from February 21 to 22. This will be the opening of the 2023 season, the press service of the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation reported on Wednesday.

"On February 21-22, the sports drama "World Champion", the family film "Palm Tree" and the cartoon "Chink: The Tailed Detective" will be shown in the Thai capital. <...> The event will be the first in the new RFF 2023 season, which will include more than twenty Russian film festivals in Asia, the Middle East, the CIS, Europe and Latin America," the message reads.

The head of the Ministry of Culture Olga Lyubimova believes that Russia's cultural relations with Asian countries are now at a new stage of development.

"We are pleased to once again present modern Russian cinema in Thailand. Cinema has always been and remains an integral part of the international dialogue. Today, cultural cooperation with Thailand and with Asian countries in general is experiencing a new round of development. Thailand pays great attention to the development of creative industries, and we see great potential for joint projects," her words are quoted in the message.

Russian Film Festival in Bangkok is organized by Roskino with the support of the Ministry of Culture of Russia and the Embassy of the Russian Federation in Thailand. The festival will be held in Bangkok for the second time. In December last year, it gathered more than 1 thousand viewers.
