A film almanac of five student films shot during the opening will be shown.

The Ural cinema festival "Oika" will start in Yekaterinburg on October 20, at the opening, the audience will be presented with a film almanac of five student films shot during a folklore film expedition in the homeland of writer Dmitry Mamin-Sibiryak in the village of Visim, the organizers said.

"At the opening, we will show a film almanac of five works that were shot by students of the Faculty of Philology of UrFU during the July expedition in the village of Visim. For the guys, these materials became the debut in the world of documentary cinema, and for us - an interesting find in the process of exploring the edges and facets of the Urals and the people living on it," the message says and clarifies that the opening of the festival will be held in the former Salyut cinema on October 20.

The audience will see at the opening a documentary comedy about an elderly couple "Zhenya", the film "House of Culture" about a provincial House of Culture, whose residents are actively preparing for the Village Day, the film "Alla Alekseevna" about an elderly woman who worked in an orphanage in the 1990s. As well as the film "Summer in the abandoned", thanks to which festival guests will be able to get acquainted with teenagers who "hang out in the abandoned opposite the House of Culture every summer evening" and the film "Igor" about a lone man who likes to wander through the forest and communicate with him, knows all the herbs and trails.

This year, the competition program will feature several dozen films - documentaries, games, animation. Summing up and closing of the festival will take place on October 30. In addition to the competition program, lectures, excursions, a round table, and debates are also planned.

Last year, the first Oika festival was held, then the Yekaterinburg audience saw 19 films directed by the Ural Federal District and Perm Krai.
