On September 9, at 19.00, the Oriental Museum will host a lecture "Tea action - harmony of the elements" within the framework of the exhibition "Five Elements of Tea".

The Japanese tea action cha-no yu is one of the most striking cultural phenomena of the Land of the Rising Sun. This is a unique holistic, synthetic art that combines different types of artistic craft and decorative and applied art, the performing side of the ritual, the mastery of flower arrangement, landscape architecture and haute cuisine. Changes in the history of Japan were reflected in the tea tradition of the country. From court fun – to philosophically and religiously meaningful ritual, from luxury – to refined simplicity: considering the objects of tea utensils, we will trace the history of the formation of different styles of action, its aesthetic and ethical ideals and talk about outstanding tea masters.

The lecture will be delivered by the curator of the exhibition "Five Elements of Tea" - Anna Egorova.

The cost of an entrance ticket is 300 rubles, a preferential ticket is 200 rubles.

You can also buy a ticket to the lecture with a Pushkin card.
