Armenian orchestra to take part in Spasskaya Tower Festival in Moscow

The orchestra of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Armenia will introduce the guests of the International Military Music Festival "Spasskaya Tower" to the music of the country. This was reported to TASS in the directorate of the festival on Monday.

"This year, the orchestra of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Armenia will introduce the listeners of the International Military Music Festival "Spasskaya Tower" to the beautiful music of ancient and diverse Armenia," the directorate noted.

According to the organizers, the program of the festival participants from Armenia will be filled with national songs and motifs. In particular, the orchestra will perform "Spring" from the ballet "Gayane" (composer Aram Khachaturian), folk dance "Alashkert kochari" to the accompaniment of duduk and dgol, "Ddma jazz" (folk music arranged by Martin Vardazaryan).

"In addition, the Armenian team will play for the guests of the festival the songs "I have already seen myself" (music by Charles Aznavour) and "My dear Muscovites" from the film "Pokrovsky Gate" (music by Isaac Dunaevsky, words by Vladimir Massa and Mikhail Chervinsky)," the directorate said, stressing that the orchestra is led by lieutenant colonelHayk Grigoryan and Conductor MajorArtaka Simonyan maintains close creative cooperation with musical and creative collectives, young authors and performers of Armenia.

The Orchestra of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Armenia was established in 1992. During this time, he took part in more than two thousand events, including the International Festival of Military Orchestras in St. Petersburg in 2008, the International Festival of Military Orchestras in the city of Eksche (Sweden, 2010). In February 2019, the orchestra provided musical accompaniment to the IDEX 2019 International Arms Exhibition in Abu Dhabi (UAE). The orchestra took part in the Spasskaya Tower Festival for the first time in 2017, two years later the band became a participant in the Spasskaya Tower on Sakhalin Festival.
